According to Portland police, the man had covered himself in evergreen branches and was standing in the middle of a congested intersection. When they asked him why, he said he wanted to see how people reacted to his "performance" and how it would impact their "natural choreography."

The police were fairly unimpressed by the "performance art" excuse and warned the man to stay out of the intersection before letting him go. When he immediately wandered back into traffic, they arrested him.

When asked for comment, Portland's Assistant Police Chief told the Portland Press Herald, "Sometimes people do bizarre things because they want to get arrested."
