Kazuma Okamoto, captain of the Yomiuri Giants of Japan's baseball team, continues to win three gold medals with a hot hit early in the season.

Kazuma Okamoto started the game against Hiroshima Carp at Tokyo Dome in Japan on the 12th and scored one hit (one home run) and one walk, one RBI and two runs from three times at bat.

He stepped down with an infield grounder in the second inning, and with two outs in the fourth inning, he hit a 143-km fastball from Hiroshima starter Gurriarren to hit a solo home run over the left wall. The homerun was 2-4. He got on base with a walk in the sixth inning with one out and runners on the second and third bases, and struck out in the seventh inning.

Yomiuri returned to seven runs in the big innings during a hit in the sixth inning to win 9-4.

Okamoto, who added one home run and one RBI, is tied for first in home runs (three) and first in RBIs (ten). He ranks first in the league in batting average with 499.

Okamoto, who has won three home runs and two RBIs so far, said, "I'm focused. I want to win this kind of game," and was happy about his team's come-from-behind victory.

Okamoto batted .278 with 41 home runs, 93 RBIs, 83 runs scored and an OPS.958 in 140 games last year. Although his team fell to B grade (under 4), Okamoto's personal performance was stellar.

Notably, his 41 home runs were career-high, and he became the only player in the two majors to surpass 40 home runs. He beat Munetaka Murakami of Yakult to win his third career home run title.

Okamoto has recorded more than 30 home runs for six consecutive years from 2018 to 2023, with his third home run title following 2020 and 2021. He became the third player in history to record 30 home runs for six consecutive years, following "Home Run King" Sadaharu Oh and "Godzilla" Hideki Matsui.
