According to a report by GGRAsia, top casino company Galaxy Entertainment Group announced the soft opening of its latest hotel brand, Raffles, on Aug. 16 in Galaxy Macao. The soft opening is said to mean an introduction to the grand opening event, which will be held until the end of 2023.

Market entry milestones:

The launch of the Raffles in the Galaxy Macau will also represent the entry of the globally popular Raffles brand into the Macau market. According to the same source, accommodations for selected guests are already available at the resort, and Inside Asian Gaming (IAG) reported that the new hotel will feature about 450 luxury suites, including a Mediterranean-themed garden, luxurious swimming pool, spa, high-end restaurants, and other amenities.

Soft Opening:

The IAG also reported that Galaxy Macao will continue to host exclusive "first looks" at several restaurants this month. The teaser will reportedly continue in August and conclude with a soft opening event scheduled for Aug. 16. According to reports, the Galaxy will use the milestone to reveal more details about the property's development and features ahead of the grand opening. The company said, "The grand opening, which celebrates the addition of remaining signature restaurants, bars, and spas, is expected towards the end of the year."

Property Features:

Galaxy Macau's lottery ticket reportedly features a glass air bridge that connects the hotel's two towers. It is expected that the features available on all floors will enhance the customer experience. As reported by IAG, the experience will be further enhanced by the aforementioned Mediterranean gardens, dedicated bars, and restaurants, with chef Masayaki Miyakawa's signature on it, one of only five sushi chefs in Japan that has received a three-star Michelin rating.

Latest Raffles Development:

Other signatures will reportedly include the cocktail brand 'Macao Sling,' which complements Singapore's famous Long Bar's historic 'Singapore Sling' at Singapore's original Raffles Hotel. The IAG reported that the Galaxy described Macau's Long Bar facility as "a very unexpected and modern take on the long bar of its 108-year-old tradition." According to the same source, the Galaxy Macao's Raffles will be the latest hotel in the Raffles global portfolio, which consists of 18 elite properties in prestigious locations including London and Paris.

Setting properties on the move:

The property's soft opening is scheduled for Aug. 16. According to a report by GGRAsia, guest customers appear to include only some gambling customers, and the company is currently building a workforce that could be ready to set up the property in earnest at the same time as the grand opening milestone.
