mountain skiing competition scene

The 2024 Asian Cup Mountain Ski Competition and the 21st Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Governor's Cup National Mountain Ski Competition will be held at Mona Yongpyeong, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do from the 8th to the 10th.

About 150 domestic and foreign athletes will participate in this competition, hosted by the International Mountain Ski Federation, Asian Mountaineering Federation, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, and Korea Mountaineering Federation, and organized by the Korea Mountain Ski Association.

Sprint and vertical events will be held, and athletes will be divided into male and female senior, under-23, and under-20 categories.

In the sprint race, the track is composed of uphill-kickturn-walking-downhill sections on terrain at an altitude of 70m, and in the vertical race, rankings are determined by the order of reaching the top through uphill movements.

The course will be inspected on the 8th, and the opening ceremony and vertical competition will be held on the 9th.On the 10th, a sprint race, awards ceremony, and closing ceremony will be held.

Mountain skiing is an official event at the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games and the 2026 Milan/Cortina Dimpezzo Winter Olympics.
