Joel Embiid, a superstar of the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) who underwent knee surgery, showed his strong will to return to the court.

"I'll be back before the end of this regular season. That's the plan," Embiid said at a news conference with local media in Camden, New Jersey.

Embiid had surgery last month after injuring his knee while performing unrivaledly this season with an average of 35.3 points, 11.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists.

"Everything is going well. I will go back to the court as soon as I recover," Embiid said.

While Embiid was unable to play, Philadelphia was pushed out of the standings race and is currently sixth in the Eastern Conference.

They need to be in the top six by the end of the regular season to go straight to the quarterfinals playoffs.
