Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has offered the team's best legend Luka Modric a coaching job.

"Coach Ancelotti offered Modric an opportunity to join the Real Madrid coach team if he decided to retire after the end of the season," global sports media "The Athletic" reported on the 21st.

Modric is a legendary midfielder. He moved to Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2012. Real Madrid invested 35 million euros in Modric.

Modric went through ups and downs in the early days of his transfer, but soon became the team's key midfielder. He contributed to his team's third consecutive UEFA Champions League victory from 2015/16 to 2017/18, forming a powerful midfield line with Toni Kroos and Casemiro. Modric has 38 goals and 83 assists in 516 official matches for Real Madrid.

Modric has a brilliant career in Real Madrid. He has won three Primera Liga titles, five UEFA Champions League titles, two Copa del Rey titles, five Supercopa Espana titles, and four FIFA Club World Cups. Modric won the Ballon d'Or in 2018, breaking the two-river structure of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Modric, who boasted an absolute status at Real Madrid, is showing a significant decline in his skills as he enters his late 30s. Modric's contract with Real Madrid ends this summer. He has to renew his contract, but there is no talk of an extension yet.

Under these circumstances, Ancelotti gave Modric the coaching position. According to The Athletic, Modric was grateful for the opportunity but declined for now. However, Modric is still reportedly considering making an offer. It remains to be seen what kind of decision Modric will make.
