Anger at the Fake Transfer Rumor

Frenkie The Dragon has strongly denied recent transfer rumors surrounding him.

Frenkie de Jong, midfielder of F.C. Barcelona in La Liga, Spain, replied to rumors of a transfer. He attended a press conference ahead of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) match in China. He recently posted rumors of a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and criticized the media, saying, "I don't know why you're not shy."

Spanish media outlet Sport had a news conference on Monday ahead of the first round match between Napoli and Barcelona at the UCL`s round of 16. The main issue on the day was his comment.

According to the media, The Dragon said, "I'm angry at the recent media reports. There are things that are not normal. I don't understand fake news coming out. Aren't you ashamed? All of this annoys me."

He is known to receive the highest salary in his team at the moment. Some analysts say that selling him would be financially helpful for Barcelona, which is struggling with financial difficulties. However, The Dragon said, "The media always talks about my salary. What's reported is far from the reality. I am happy in Barcelona. This is a club that I have dreamed of. I hope to play for Barcelona for many years."

The dragon left Ajax in the 2019-20 season to join Barcelona and has been playing in Spain for five seasons. Barcelona has invested a whopping 86 million euros (about 124 billion won) to recruit The dragon.

Although he joined the Barcelona team in his early 20s, he has become a starting member early on. He has been playing as a starting member since his debut season, and has scored 16 goals and 21 assists in 207 official matches up to this season. He also won one La Liga title, one King's Cup title, and one Super Cup title.

The only thing that is regrettable is the performance of the UEFA match. The Dragon only reached the UCL quarterfinals and the round of 16 after joining Barcelona. In the 2022-23 season, he played in the Europa League (UEL), but he bowed his head after losing to Manchester United in the round of 16 playoffs.

This season, however, Barcelona made it to the UCL tournament with four wins and two losses. The dragon played in only two games due to ankle injury and a cold, but he is expected to play without any problems against Napoli.
