IPI revocation hearing again

The hearing to determine whether to revoke Imperial Pacific International (CNMI) LLC’s exclusive casino license, originally scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed again.
It is now rescheduled for February 28, 2024, as both IPI and the Commonwealth Casino Commission (CCC) remain engaged in settlement negotiations.

As reported by the local media outlet, Andrew Yeom, the executive director of CCC, states that the delays are attributed to the involvement of multiple parties in the discussions.

On February 13th, Yeom and IPI jointly submitted a third motion to extend the enforcement hearing for two complaints against IPI, shifting the date from February 20, 2024, to February 28, 2024. Their rationale cited ongoing settlement discussions necessitating additional time.

Originally scheduled for January 31, 2024, the CCC board initially set the revocation hearing. Subsequently rescheduled for February 12, 2024, it was further postponed to February 20, 2024, following requests from involved parties.

By the December 30, 2023, deadline, IPI failed to remit approximately $62 million in casino license fees owed to the CNMI government.
