The $150 million Black Hawk Casino by Hyatt will be the largest gaming complex in the state, featuring 1,332 slot and video games and 22 tables for poker and blackjack.

The centerpiece of the casino will be the Fireside Lounge, a circular area featuring a bar and stage surrounded by four seven-story fireplaces. Live entertainment could include "everything from comedy to lounge acts to bands to cooking demonstrations," said Jack Breslin, marketing director for Black Hawk Casino by Hyatt.

The casino will have 55,000 square feet of public space and boast a Starbucks and four eateries, Robinowitz said.

Parking will be ample, with 650 valet spots and 800 other spaces.

The casino is the first step in Dallas-based developer Windsor Woodmont Resort Corp.'s plan to create a destination resort in this former mining community. Ultimately, it could include everything from a wildlife preserve to a winery to biking trails, said Dan Robinowitz, chairman and chief executive officer of Windsor Woodmont.

A 25-story Hyatt hotel with 350 rooms -- all suites -- will be built starting next year if the casino is successful, Robinowitz said.
