Buckyai resident Esmeralda Montez opened the week with a big win Sunday evening as the latest winner of the Gila River Hotels & Casino Mega Jackpack.

This is Montes' first time at the Bee Quiva Hotel and Casino. Montes' mother previously invited her to the casino in a good mood after winning Bee Quiva.

Montes received a total of $115,821.20 in cash after popping a mega jackpot on a Wheel of Fortune Progressive slot machine.

"It's very exciting to hear our guests cheer when they win," said Jeff Martin, general manager of Bee Quiva. "And when they're the Mega Jackpot winners, it's a buzz and momentum like never before on the casino floor."

This makes it the second Mega Jackpot winner of 2018 for Gila River Hotel & Casino.

Bee Quiva offers a poker room with over 900 different slot machines, 30 oversized table games including blackjack and pigo, and 14 poker tables.
