Korean Air, a men's professional volleyball team, beat Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance with persistent concentration and organizational power and added three valuable points.
Korean Air beat Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance 3-1 (24-26 25-223-2231-29 26-24) in the Dodram 2023-2024 V-League men's visit match held at Chungmu Gymnasium in Daejeon on the 3rd. Korean Air, ranked second with 15 wins and 11 losses and 47 points, tied with Woori Card (16 wins, 9 losses, 47 points) in points and kept its second place behind in multiple wins. On the other hand, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, which ranked third, had 15 wins and 11 losses and 40 points, making it impossible to secure spring volleyball. In men's volleyball, three teams, from Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance to the fifth-ranked OK Financial Group, have 40 points, while sixth-ranked Hyundai Capital is also chasing the third-ranked team with 36 points. The game was tight. Korean Air lost the first set because it failed to effectively block Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance's foreign player Yosvani Hernandez (registered name Yosvani). Korean Air was hit by a strong spike by Yosbani at the 24-24 deuce, and Murad Khan's open spike was blocked by the opponent's blocking wall in the ensuing attack. Yosbani scored 10 points in the first set alone, and displayed remarkable performance. Murad, a foreign player replacing Korean Air, scored three points and only had a 30 percent success rate. The two teams continued their game in clearer colors from the second set. Korean Air countered with teamwork, and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance leaned more on Yosbani. Korean Air matched the set score of 1-1 with Murad's survival in the second set. The third set was won by Korean Air after six deuce battles. Korean Air ran away with a point due to Kim Jung-ho's serve error at 29-29, and Jung Ji-seok scored a difficult ball that was floated by a setter Han who hit Yosbani with a dig at 30-29. Korean Air, which turned the game around 2-1 in the set, ended the game in the fourth set. Korean Air allowed its opponent team Eddie Zargacha (registered name Eddie) to turn the tables in 20-19, but Lim Dong-hyuk succeeded in a golden strike to tie the game 21-21. Since then, the game has been tight. Korean Air led the game again with Kim Gyu-min's fastball at 24-24. And at 25-24, Jung Ji-seok blocked Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance's Kim Jung-ho's rear attack and finished the game. Jung Ji-seok scored 12 points, including five blocks. Yosbani played close to a one-man show with five blocks, two serve aces and 39 points, but the help of domestic players was poor. |
