The flame went out in 2023

Robert Lewandowski (35, Barcelona) talked about the difficulties he had last year.

According to a report by Spanish media "Sport" on the 2nd, Lewandowski said in an interview, "The year 2023 has weakened mentally and physically."

"The year 2023 was a time when the flame went out for me. Everything bad and negative happened at the same time. Everything was accumulated," he confessed.

Lewandowski is considered one of the best strikers in the world. Since joining Bayern Munich in 2014, he has secured 344 goals in 375 matches and has risen to the ranks of world class with confidence.

He even challenged to conquer Spain. Lewandowski left Munich in 2022 and entered Barcelona, where he proved his worth by scoring 33 goals from his first season.

This season is quite different from last season. He has only eight goals in 20 games in La Liga. In October last year, he suffered an ankle injury and suffered a scoreless goal for nearly two months.

Rumors of his release have also been raised. The claim that Barcelona, which is struggling financially, will sell Lewandowski this summer to expand its financial power has been weighed down.

Lewandowski said, "Of course, it was my fault. I fell into a negative current and it took too long to get out of it. It is not easy to overcome in a week or two in soccer."

"I took advantage of my free time to conduct physical fitness tests and individual training sessions. It was positive and helpful. I felt that I improved physically," he said, fueling his commitment to rebound in the second half of the year.

We need to work hard. Lewandowski has not scored in the league since last year's game against Girona. He needs to score more to prove that he has overcome his slump in 2023.
