Technical support issues
Coach Eddie Howe is afraid of losing Joelinton.
He is a high-quality midfielder from Brazil. He is 186 cm tall in physique, and he has excellent footwork as he is from Brazil. He is an industrious player who boasts a wide range of activities based on his prolific activities, and can play center midfielders, offensive midfielders, and center forwards.
His first start was as a striker. While playing well in his country's league, he moved to Lapid Vienna, Austria, in the 2016-17 season, where he scored 10 goals and 6 assists in 43 games including the cup. While playing well in the 2017-18 season, he moved to Hoffenheim in the 2018-19 season and advanced to the big leagues. In his first year of transfer, he scored 11 goals and 9 assists in 35 games including the cup, and was immediately called by Newcastle United.
He also played his part as a striker for Newcastle. However, despite playing in all league games in his first year of transfer, he was sluggish, scoring only two goals and helping two, and later changing his position to a central midfielder.
This is like a stroke of God. Given his freer role as a central midfielder, his offense has shined more than when he was a center forward. He has eight goals and three assists in 40 matches including the Cup, and has contributed greatly to securing a berth to the UEFA Champions League. Although the trend has been somewhat interrupted this season, he still boasts a solid position by playing in 23 matches including the Cup.
It has established itself as the core of Newcastle, but its future is unclear. Joelinton and Newcastle's contract period is currently 1 year and 6 months, and no progress has been made in renewing their contract yet.
Howe expressed his anxiety. Craig Hope of the Daily Mail, a British media outlet, said, "Howe has admitted that Joelinton's renewal of his contract has reached a deadlock."
Howe also stressed to the club the need to renew Joelinton's contract. He said, "The club has to sign Joelinton to a long-term contract or he could be sold in the summer. That's the reality."
