Barcelona is angry that it failed to close the gap with Real Madrid.

Real Madrid beat UD Almeria 3-2 in La Liga on Sunday. Barcelona, which has widened its gap with rival Real Madrid, showed a very upset response. "Barcelona's president Juan Laporta has been criticized for being very shameful for his victory," Tribuna, a soccer media outlet, said on Sunday.

Real Madrid, however, tied the game with a penalty kick and a field goal at the 12th and 22nd minutes of the second half, respectively. At the 12th minute of the second half, when Real Madrid crossed from the side to the center to attack, Almeria's defender Kaiki's arm hit the ball and a penalty kick was declared. Jude Bellingham, Real's "supernova" midfielder, was able to finish the game by kicking well into the center.

In the 22nd minute of the second half, Real striker Vinicius Hunior scored the equalizer. He scored the goal by pushing a cross from the right.

However, critics pointed out that both goals were given excessive VAR benefits. In the case of handball judgment that Kiki committed the crime, if it is true that he was hit in the arm or if there is no intention, defense's handball should not be declared foul.

In the case of Kiki, the right to provide was being weighed down by Real strikers, so he was not in a situation to intentionally put his arm on the ground to commit a handball. However, referee Francisco Hernandez, who was the referee at the match, immediately declared a penalty kick after checking the VAR.

The same was true of the Vinicius goal that followed. As Vinicius took the cross and processed it, the ball appeared to hit the side of his right shoulder, giving Vinicius ample room for a handball to be declared.

Especially on the shoulder side, since it is not a body part that is recognized for scoring, Vinicius's success in scoring by hitting the ball hard in that area could have clearly been declared handball.

However, VAR raised Vinicius's hand and Almeria's squad was forced to fall into despair.

On the other hand, Almeria connected midfielder Dion Lofti to the left Ramazani after good de-pressure in the 16th minute of the second half and immediately launched a counterattack by speeding up. Ramazani connected to right winger Sergio Arrivas, who was rushing to the center, and scored, but it was canceled after VAR because Lofti hit Bellingham in the face during the de-pressure process.

In the end, Real was able to win a 3-2 come-from-behind victory in the 9th minute of the second half when side defender Dani Carvajal scored a come-from-behind goal with an active rush of goal.

"What happened at the Bernabeu (Real's home stadium) is very shameful," Laporta said. "I think the referee needs to explain the controversial decision that has taken place throughout this season. If not, it will make Barcelona very uncomfortable," he said, claiming that the referee favors Real.

"It seems that the refereeing authorities abandoned their functions," he said, "and the results must match the performance. It was an opportunity to close the gap with Real, but VAR prevented it," he said, expressing anger and regret.

Currently, the gap between Real and Barcelona is seven points apart, and if Real loses to Almeria, the gap will be narrowed to four. Girona, the first-place team, leads with 52 points, Real is in second place with 51 points, and Barcelona and Atletico Madrid (ATM) are in third and fourth places with 44 and 41 points, respectively.

Apart from Girona, which is causing a sensation this season, it is a regrettable result for Barcelona, which must close the gap with Real.

Barcelona is under pressure right now. As it lags behind Real Madrid, which is ranking second, as well as the title of the league, it desperately needs a rebound. Barcelona, which will play the Copa del Rey (FA Cup in Spain) game against Athletic Clube on April 25, will rekindle its competition for the ranking with its 22nd round La Liga game against Villarreal on April 28.
