Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood's iconic guitar hotel has officially opened as part of a $1.5 billion expansion that will elevate integrated resorts and casinos to world-class gaming and entertainment destinations.
The 450-foot-tall other hotel features a state-of-the-art Hard Rock Live venue that can accommodate 7,000 people, an expanded and updated casino with 195,000 square feet of gaming space, a 42,000-square-foot ultra-luxury spa and fitness center, a large DAER nightclub and day club complex, over two dozen innovative dining, lounge and entertainment options, a collection of luxury retailers, and over 150,000 square feet of meeting space.
Dozens of A-list celebrities gathered on a high red carpet at the bottom of the giant video wall to kick off the grand opening ceremony at the Oculus, a stunning design feature at the entrance of the new giant Forte-Cosche. Oculus encompasses elements of lush green, light and water, choreographed to the music.
The signature hard rock guitar smash officially marked the opening of the expansion, which includes the world's first guitar hotel. The guitar smash was followed by a welcome greeting from the Seminole Tribe in Florida and the leaders of Seminole Gaming, which owns and operates the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.
"Other hotels will attract visitors from all over the country and the world," said Jim Allen, CEO of Seminole Gaming and president of Hard Rock International. "They will experience a global destination for entertainment, games, and dining."
The premiere of the celebratory performance of the Guitar Hotel's Show Stop Lamp Show led to a guitar smash, with a series of tuned outdoor music and light shows using LED lights on every facet of the Guitar Hotel. The lights are programmed to change color and intensity in time to match the music. Six fixed, high-power rays are projected at least 20,000 feet into the air. The six lights mimic the guitar strings on an imaginary guitar neck.
