Real-Barça was mentioned as a target... 20-goal bomber, EPL adva

Santiago Jimenez is turning to the Premier League.

The Times, a British media outlet, reported on the 13th (Korea Standard Time) that "West Ham is leading the fight against Jimenez, who is receiving attention from several clubs."

Jimenez is considered one of the best strikers of the season. He has clearly proved his worth, scoring 20 goals in 22 games throughout all competitions.

Recent trends have been amazing, too. Jimenez has scored five goals and one assist in his past four league games. In his last game against Excelsior, he scored his second hat-trick of the season.

There is ample growth potential in the future. Jimenez is a forward striker who is expected to grow into a world-class player, showing sharp penetration and excellent air superiority.

Compliments poured in. Liverpool legend Dirk Kuyt said in an interview, "Jimenez is really fast. I think he's the best striker in the Eredivisie right now."

He was initially mentioned as a candidate for Real Madrid. Real are said to be interested in signing Jimenez as a substitute for Karim Benzema, who left the team last summer.

Barcelona was mentioned as a competitor. Barcelona is targeting Jimenez as the successor of Robert Lewandowski, who is showing signs of deterioration this season.

He was also mentioned as a likely candidate for Tottenham. It has been revealed that Tottenham manager Angry Postecoglou has sent scouts several times this season to keep Jimenez in check.

The team that actually dominated the recruitment campaign was West Ham. According to this report, West Ham, who want to recruit strikers, are more actively pursuing Jimenez than any other team.

It's not at a stage where we can guarantee a deal. The Times reported that "Pyenoord will be asking for a huge sum of money for Jimenez's transfer fee. West Ham may face financial limitations."

The exact transfer fee requested has not been disclosed. Some argued that Feyenoord would allow Jimenez to transfer if the offer is 50 million euros (about 71 billion won).
