Technical support issues
Tom Lockyer, who fainted due to cardiac arrest during the game, regained consciousness.
Luton Town was playing against Bournemouth in the 17th round of the English Premier League in the 2023-24 season at Bournemouth Vitality Stadium in England on the 17th.
Lockyer suddenly collapsed on the ground in the 15th minute of the second half when the score was tied 1-1. Lockyer, who received first aid from medical staff, was taken off the field on a stretcher.
Home team Bournemouth announced the cancellation of the game through an electronic board.
Fortunately, Lockyer regained consciousness. Luton Town said on its official website, "Lockyer is in a stable condition and is currently undergoing further testing with his family. We appreciate the immediate response from Bournemouth and the medics on both sides."
He then bowed his head, saying, "The players who watched their beloved teammate leave were unable to continue the game, and I feel sorry for the supporters for not being able to continue the game."
He also stressed, "I would like to thank everyone for calling out Lockyer's name and supporting him inside the stadium during difficult times."
Finally, Luton Town asked Lockyer to cheer him on, saying, "Now is the time for all players, staff and supporters to give him love and support as we always have done."
Lockyer, meanwhile, has collapsed in the middle of a game before. Lockyer collapsed with atrial fibrillation in May during the playoff final for promotion to the English Football League (EFL) Championship.
