Pohang's 13th head coach, is a "one club man"

"Pohang is such a meaningful place for me that I've never forgotten about Pohang since I first joined the club," Park said. "I'm so honored and glad to be a coach of such a team. I'll do my best to prepare for Pohang soccer."

He played in Pohang for nine seasons, excluding military service, and scored 46 goals and 37 assists in a total of 261 K-League games, and served as Pohang captain from 1998 to 2000.

During Coach Park's time as a player, Pohang won the K League and the Korea Football Association (FA) Cup once each, and reached the top of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League twice.

Coach Park Tae-ha, who started his leadership career in Pohang in 2005, helped Pohang win the K-League as a coach in 2007, and served as Korea's national coach from 2008 to 2011.

Afterwards, he took charge of FC Seoul's head coach in 2012 to lead the team to win the K-League, and in 2015, he took charge of China's second division Yanbian to show his leadership in putting the team in the first division.

Since 2020, he has been the chairman of the Korea Professional Football Federation's technical committee to study the latest trends in soccer tactics.

Pohang, which ranked second in the K League 1 in the 2023 season and won the FA Cup, moved to Seoul by head coach Kim Ki-dong after the end of the season.
