Coach Kim Do-kyun, who led Suwon FC to remain in the K-League 1, has decided his next destination. It is Seoul E-Land FC.
Seoul E-Land FC announced in a press release on the 14th that it has appointed head coach Kim Do-kyun as the head coach to lead the 2024 season.
Seoul E-Land FC highly appreciated coach Kim Do-kyun's aggressive soccer style and leadership that led the players. In particular, he highly evaluated his promotion as well as his stable settlement in K League 1, and judged him as the right person to lead Seoul E-Land FC in the 2024 season.
Coach Kim Do-kyun was a defensive midfielder who debuted at Ulsan Hyundai in 1999 and represented the league, including captain of the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and runner-up in the K League in 2003. Immediately after his retirement, he served as the head coach of the Ulsan Hyundai Youth Team and served as the scouting and general director of the Ulsan Hyundai Youth Team.
Coach Kim Do-kyun, who made his K-League debut with Suwon FC in 2019, succeeded in being promoted immediately in his first year as a manager by banking on his hot attacking football. He then advanced to the Final A and ranked fourth in the regular league in the 2021 season. He has experience of stably growing his team by succeeding in remaining in the K-League 1 in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
Manager Kim Do-kyun said, "As a soccer player, I was interested in the development and promotion of Seoul E-Land FC. I'm glad to be able to challenge myself with such a sense of responsibility. I will do my best to bring new energy to the team."
Meanwhile, Seoul E-Land FC will appoint a coaching staff to assist head coach Kim Do-kyun and spur the formation of the team.
