Moon Seon-min spent a disappointing fifth season at Jeonbuk Hyundai.
The 2023 season, which started under coach Kim Sang-sik, was chaotic. After losing the league championship trophy to Ulsan Hyundai in the 2022 season, Jeonbuk, which carried out large-scale changes to its squad while calling for a generational change, was greatly shaken. There were transfers of veterans including Lee Seung-gi, Choi Bo-kyung, Lee Yong, and Lee Joo-yong, and with Barlow and Song Bum-geun choosing to transfer, reinforcements were needed. They were reinforced by transfusing proven foreign players such as Hapa Silva, Andre Luis, and Jun Amano, as well as players who played in K League 1 and K League 2, such as Tae-wook Jeong, Lee Dong-jun, Woo-jae Jeong, Min-ki Jeong, and Jae-hyuk Oh. However, perhaps because of the major changes, Jeonbuk's early season was a mess. Jeonbuk, which suffered a whopping 4 losses in the first 7 games of the league, then suffered two consecutive losses at home to Daejeon Hana Citizen in the 9th round and Gangwon FC in the 10th round. Coach Kim Sang-sik, who was suspended for two games after being sent off in the 8th round away game against Jeju United, was eventually dismissed due to poor performance. https://shorturl.at/xPXZ0 |
