The Toronto Raptors are not without interest in the trade market.
According to Shams Charania, a reporter for The Athletic, Toronto is interested in the Chicago Bulls' Jack Lavigne (guard, 196 cm, 91 kg). The LA Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, who are currently considering Lavigne as a trade card, and the Miami Heat, who are said to be interested if the deal comes up, were mentioned as major destinations and candidates. However, while the Lakers are not expected to show much actual interest, Toronto is also being mentioned. Toronto did not retain Fred VanVleet (Houston) this summer. Ahead of last season's trade deadline, attention was focused on whether VanVleet and Pascal Siakam would be traded. However, Toronto did not let go of VanVleet and Siakam and brought in Jakob Purdle. This summer, as he signed a new contract with Puddle, he put more emphasis on maintaining his power. OG Anunoby was also not traded. Realistically, if Toronto wants to take LaVine, they have to offer Siakam. However, if Chicago wants a complete reorganization rather than a partial reorganization, it is expected that they will not want Siakam. To this, Gary Trent Jr., other expiring contracts, and a first-round pick must be added to negotiate conditions. However, it remains to be seen whether Chicago will like the terms that Toronto could potentially offer. There are other possibilities as well. There is also room for Toronto to trade Siakam first and use some of the acquired assets to trade Lavin. If Toronto ultimately sends Siakam and brings in Lavin, it would be worth forming a solid team with Scotty Barnes and Anunoby. They have experienced players including Puddle and Dennis Schröder, so they may have a well-organized starting roster. However, it is unclear how much interest Toronto has in Lavigne, and it is important whether they will pursue a trade for Siakam. Siakam's contract expires at the end of this season. They were unable to let VanVleet go during last season, leaving them with no assets. In other words, it is important to let Siakam go and secure other prospects or draft rights. Even after the transaction, Toronto's interest in Lavigne is expected to be key. https://www.totorank.net/ |
