Professional baseball SSG Landers recruited Robert Dugger (28) as a new foreign pitcher.

SSG announced on the 28th that it signed a contract with right-handed pitcher Dugger for a total of $900,000 ($100,000 down payment, $650,000 annual salary, $150,000 option).

SSG said of Dugger, “We highly evaluated the fact that he can throw a heavy fastball at a maximum speed of 150 km/h and use various breaking balls such as change-ups and curves with perfection,” and added, “He has abundant starting experience and stable game management ability, so his major weakness is He introduced, “He is a complete starting pitcher.”

Dugger was selected by the Seattle Mariners with the 537th overall pick in the 2016 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft, and was traded to the Miami Marlins in 2017.

Dugger, who entered the major league with Miami in 2019, played for the Tampa Bay Rays and Cincinnati Reds. He pitched 86⅔ innings in 27 major league games (13 as a starter), leaving with no wins, 7 losses, and an ERA of 7.17.

He signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers this year and recorded 7 wins, 10 losses, and a 4.31 ERA in 29 games in Triple A. In particular, he ranked first in strikeouts in the Triple-A Pacific League with 143 strikeouts.

Dugger said, “I am very happy to have signed with SSG, and I am looking forward to my future life in Korea. “I will do my best to help the team win the 2024 season,” he said about signing the contract.

Dugger plans to undergo medical tests in the United States in the future.
