There are predictions that if Lee Jung-hoo posts, the New York Yankees will actively 'court him'.

In fact, it is unclear whether the Yankees will jump into the recruitment process for Lee Jung-hoo. This is because of MVP former Cody Bellinger.

After being abandoned by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Bellinger made a complete comeback with the Chicago Cubs this year.

Lee Jung-hoo played wearing the number 51 of his idol, Ichiro Suzuki, in hopes of becoming a player like him.

He may stick with this uniform number even if he enters the major leagues.

However, the Yankees cannot wear number 51. This is because he has already had his name permanently revoked.

The Yankees' number 51 is Bernie Williams.

Williams is considered one of the five players who helped rebuild the Yankees' dynasty, along with Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada and Andy Pettitte.

Williams, who made his major league debut in 1991, has been the Yankees' starting center fielder since 1993. He hit double-digit home runs and stole around 10 bases every year, and showed his incredible ability by hitting .300 for eight consecutive years from 1995 to 2002.

His defensive skills were also outstanding. From 1997 to 2000, he won the Gold Glove Award as an outfielder four consecutive years.

While franchise star Williams played for the Yankees, the Yankees won four World Series championships.

Williams, who retired in 2006, was confirmed as a permanent member of the New York Yankees along with Jorge Posada in 2015.

Ichiro played for the Yankees in the 2012-2014 seasons, and out of respect for Williams, he wore number 31 instead of 51.

Williams reportedly wore the number 51 in the hope that his native Puerto Rico would become the 51st state in the United States.

In the end, like Ichiro, Lee Jung-hoo should wear a number other than 51 if he plays for the Yankees.
