‘Buyout 40 billion won? OK! Weekly salary of 565 million? OK!'

Manchester United have been linked with Antoine Griezmann.

Britain's 'The Sun' reported on the 19th (Korean time), "Manchester United is reportedly prepared to pay up to three times the salary he is receiving from Atletico Madrid to bring Griezmann to Old Trafford. Manager Eric ten Haag is strengthening his power. "They already have several star players on their recruitment list. According to 'El Nacional', Griezmann is considered their top target. A Manchester United official has visited Spain to discuss a possible transfer," the report said.

“Manchester United offered Griezmann three times the annual salary he received at Atletico, which amounts to 350,000 pounds (approximately 565 million won) per week. Also, the media reported that Griezmann had a 25 million pound (approximately 40.3 billion won) buyout. “I added that we have a clause,” he said, raising the possibility of a surprise recruitment.

Last season, Manchester United succeeded in breaking free by winning the English Football League Cup (EFL Cup). Coach Ten Haag proved his potential by lifting the trophy for the first time in six years in his debut season.

A large-scale investment was made. Mason Mount (formerly Chelsea), Andre Onana (formerly Inter Milan), Høirun (formerly Atalanta), Altai Bayndr (formerly Fenerbahce), Sergio Reguilon (formerly Tottenham, loan), Sofiane Amrabat (formerly Fiorentina, loan) ) and other major players joined.

But currently, Manchester United are pushed to the edge of a cliff. Public sentiment is fluctuating as results are rarely achieved. The biggest problems are the constant injuries occurring in various positions and the noticeably poor decision-making power. Manager Ten Haag, who had high expectations since the Sir Alex Ferguson era, came to the point where he was booed by the home fans at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, rumors of recruiting Griezmann are circulating. Griezmann joined Barcelona for an astronomical transfer fee, but failed. Now he has returned to his former team, Atlético, and has succeeded in making a comeback. He became even sharper after successfully completing a complete transfer after his loan. Griezmann has 12 goals combined in Spain's La Liga and the UEFA Champions League (UCL).

'The Sun' explained that Manchester United could seek to recruit Griezmann, who has a cheap buyout, by offering him three times his annual salary. Of course, the possibility is slim. It is still unclear whether Griezmann, who is approaching his mid-30s, will take on a new challenge and whether Manchester United will accept a huge salary. Moreover, Griezmann has pledged to remain loyal to Atletico after returning to his home country.
