Max Baer Jr's Jetro Bodine's Beverly Hillbillies Mansion

After more than 40 years of playing Zetro in the popular '60s sitcom Beverly Hillbilly, actor Max Baer Jr. plans to keep the sitcom theme alive in a Nevada casino. The former "Jetro," now 71, is negotiating the purchase of a closed hotel casino in Sparks, Nevada, and is switching to Zetro Bodine's Beverly Hillbilly Mansion & Casino. Bear, who lives near Lake Taho, has already met with the mayor, city council and other city officials about the possibility of purchasing the former Silver Club.

It's been a while since Mr. Baer had plans for a casino. He even got approval to build a new casino next to a retail complex about 30 miles south of the Sparks. Unfortunately, progress on the retail complex appears to have stalled, leaving Mr. Baer feeling pressure to find another alternative.

Silver Club is one of six Holder Hospitality casinos that sold all of the group's properties through a recent bankruptcy reorganization.

The new casino plans to include the exterior that makes the exterior look like a Beverly Hillbilly mansion and the names of restaurants and retailers paying homage to the series.
