“As soon as I started, I made another mistake…”

A team with veterans and potential, KT Wiz also has a player who is considered one of the first. This is third baseman Hwang Jae-gyun.

Even though he is already 36 years old, he rebounded this season and showed off his health. Still, Cuevas did not waver this time. Cuevas pitched brilliantly, hitting 15 consecutive batters before allowing a hit to Son Ah-seop in the 6th inning. The final score was 6 innings, 1 hit, and no runs. Hwang Jae-gyun also felt some relief from the burden on his mind.

Hwang Jae-gyun expressed his gratitude, saying, "In fact, in the first game, the moment I made a mistake, I thought 'it was over.' Today, I made a bad mistake as soon as it started. Cuevas blocked it cleanly." He then looked back on his batting, saying, "Thanks to Cuevas, I was able to focus on opportunities, which led to good results."

He himself contributed to the team's victory with 2 hits and 2 RBIs in 5 at-bats, including a home run. In his first at-bat in the first inning, he was retired by a pitcher's grounder at third base with no outs, but he hit an RBI double in the third inning and a net hit in the fourth inning. In a 2-ball situation, NC Lee Jae-hak's 3rd pitch changeup was not missed.
