Toby Alderweireld, Son Heung-min's teammate in Tottenham Hotspur in the past, experienced a nightmare of missing a penalty kick in extra time in the second half.
Royal Antwerp lost 2-3 to Shakhtar Donetsk in the second Group H match of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League at Bosayelstadion in Antwerp, Belgium, on the 5th. Alderweireld was a defender who played for Tottenham in the past. He played for Ajax, Atletico Madrid and Southampton before joining Tottenham in the summer of 2015. Son Heung-min joined Tottenham during the same period. Alderweireld is Son Heung-min's motivation to join the team. Alderweireld led Tottenham's golden age under Mauricio Pochettino with Son Heung-min. If Son Heung-min was aiming to score from the front, Alderweireld kept a strong back.
