Caesars Windsor Casino Cancels Canadian Band Performance Over Sexual Harassment Charges
Caesars Windsor Hotel & Casino in Ontario canceled a performance by Canadian pop rock band Headley over alleged sexual misconduct. The band was scheduled to entertain Caesars Windsor's customers on March 11. Caesars has already apologized, rewarding customers who have already purchased tickets with ticket refunds. A number of women took to social media Twitter to make the decision after filing allegations of sexual misconduct against members of the rock group Headley.
Media CBC News reports that the casino has decided to cancel the concert at the Colosseum in an e-mailed statement, and casino officials have not given details of Caesar's decision, noting that the entertainment venue is clearly trying to maintain its name as muddy.
The band members described the alleged sexual assault against them as "groundless." As you can remember, the whole drama started on Twitter in mid-February after Taylor Bowman released her story about inappropriate behavior involving the members of the Headley band. The Twitter post of a 21-year-old woman from Manitoba received vocal support from other women who shared similar claims. The scandal allegations about the band did not affect their true fans' performances, but even most of their performances were canceled.
Caesars Windsor Preferring to Avoid Scandal
Lydia Fiorini of Windsor's Sex Crime Crisis Center applauded Windsor's decision. She said the band's performance should be canceled after the gambling house. Casino announced that those who purchased tickets for the Headley concert at the Caesars Windsor box office can get their money back Monday through Sunday. People who buy tickets online will automatically get proof of their purchase by the way they bought them.
Caesars Windsor's decision to cancel the show may also be linked to Steve Windsor's case, which became the biggest topic of the year, according to industry watchers who spoke on condition of anonymity. The casino mogul faced several sex crime charges at his hotel and casino properties. News of Steve Windsor's bullying and abuse of female employees has sparked public discontent that he has once again plagued the gambling industry.
