World iGame Festival SiGMA Asia opens today at the SMX Convention Center in Manila
The Asia section of SiGMA is currently being held from July 19 to 22 at the SMX Convention Center in Metro Pasai City, Manila. The iGaming festival and trade show expects 15,000 representatives, more than 150 speakers, and more than 200 game exhibitors. The Asian region has a four-day run packed with golf games, historic aspects of Manila and first day activities starting with a poker tournament in Okada Manila before the exhibition begins. Over the next few days, there will be discussions on regulation, game payments and e-commerce, as well as lectures on marketing, encryption, Web3, emerging technologies and esports on a variety of topics. The week-long networking event will be wrapped up with a closing ceremony after Centurion FC's MMA event. The event will be attended by industry leaders and government officials from the private sector, including PAGCO official Alejandro Tengco and Philippine Security and Exchange Commissioner Kelvin Lester K. Lee. PAGCOR Chairman Tengco expressed full support for the event in a press release, highlighting the Philippines' readiness to adopt new technologies that will help local games achieve higher levels. "We welcome holding a summit in this country because we believe we will gain a lot from this event and keep up with the latest trends in the global game and digital economy," Tengco explained. According to SiGMA founder Eman Pulis, they could not have chosen a better place to hold the summit because Manila is one of the most vibrant and dynamic cities in Asia. Pulis said, "Thanks to the efforts of the government and PAGCOR, Manila remains the gaming hub of Asia. Now that Corona is gone, we're doubling down on our efforts, starting a conference in Manila and going by all means to bring our vast network in the West closer to Asian suppliers, operators and affiliates," he said. |
