San Diego's Kim Ha-sung hit three hits in the Korean major league showdown, while Pittsburgh's Bae Ji-hwan continued his slump.
Kim Ha-sung, who played as the first batter in five consecutive games, swung a bat throughout the game. He came out as the leadoff hitter in the first inning and hit a left-handed hit, and in the second inning, he brought in two runners with a clean timely hit to the center field. Kim Ha-sung, who also added a hit in the seventh inning, raised his batting average to 258 with his third "three-hit game" of the season. On the other hand, Bae Ji-hwan fell into the mire of no hits in nine consecutive games, and in the sixth inning, he was sent off after complaining that the deep ball was ruled a strike. Pittsburgh, where all the starting batters except Bae Ji-hwan hit, won 9-4. |
