Snowkiting

Snowkiting
Snowboarding is very similar to kite surfing. It is only done on snow by skiing or snowboarding. They usually use kites such as kitesurfing. It is done by relatively few people because there are few places to do snowboarding. In the Netherlands, there is rarely enough snow and wind for snowboarding. You can practice the sport not only in snow fields but also in the mountains. It's possible to jump very long and far because of the mountain's rising air, then it's a little bit like paragliding.

History
In 1903, Samuel Cody crossed the English Channel, sailing with a kite. In 1977, Gijsbertus Adrianus decided to combine a kite with a surfboard. The inventor patented the idea and today he is recognized as the father of the sport.

Who is the founder of kitesurfing?
In October 1977, Gijsbertus Adrianus Panhuise of the Netherlands obtained the first patent for kite surfing. The patent was for "a water sport using a surfboard type floating board pulled by a pilot on top of it by a parachute type windbreaker tied to his harness on a Traffees type belt."

How does kitesurfing kite work?
Kites are designed to allow air particles moving above the top of the wing to flow faster than air moving above the floor. Weight is the downward force caused by the Earth's gravity on the kite. The force of weight pulls the kite toward the ground.

Benefits
Kitesurfing combines aerobic and resistance exercises. This combination is perfect for maintaining a balanced weight, getting in shape, and building physical strength, all of which are important for keeping your heart healthy.
