Long Jump  Sports

Long jump is a track and field event in which athletes jump as far as possible from the starting point using their speed, weight, and agility. It is an Olympic medal event after the first modern Olympics in 1896, and it has a long history of jumping in the ancient Olympics

History. The origins of the long jump can be traced back to the Olympics in ancient Greece, where athletes carried weights in both hands. These swung forward on takeoff and were released in the middle of the jump to boost momentum.

History
Long jump is the only known jumping event among the original Olympic pentathlon in ancient Greece. All the events that took place in the Olympic Games were initially supposed to act as a form of training for war. The appearance of the long jump is probably due to the reflection of crossing obstacles such as streams and valleys. After examining the remaining descriptions of ancient games, it is believed that unlike modern games, athletes were only allowed to start short runs. The athletes carried a weight in each hand, which was called a halter between 1 kg and 4.5 kg. These weights swayed forward when the athlete jumped to increase his or her exercise. It was generally believed that the jumper would throw weights behind him in the air to increase his forward momentum, but there was a pause throughout the jump. Shaking them down or backward at the end of the jump changes the center of gravity of the competitor and allows the competitor to extend the leg outward, increasing the distance. The jump itself was made from a batter ("a batter stepped on by foot"). It was most likely a simple board on the track of the stadium and was removed after the race. The jumpers landed in a place called Skamma ("dug-up" area). The idea that this was a pit full of sand is wrong. The sand in the jump pit is a modern invention.Skamma was simply a temporary area dug up for that time, not something that remained over time.

Long jump was considered one of the most difficult events held at the Olympics because it required a lot of skill. Music was played frequently during the jump, and Philostratus says that sometimes pipes will accompany the jump to provide rhythm to the complex movements of Holter by the player. Philostratus said, "This rule considers jumping to be the most difficult thing in a race, and they can use the flute to give an advantage to a jumper in rhythm, and a halter to give an advantage in weight." The most notable person in ancient sports was a man named Chioni, who jumped 7.05 m (23 ft 1 + 1 ⁄ 2 in) at the 656 B.C. Olympics. There was a debate among modern scholars about the long jump. Some people tried to recreate it as a triple jump. It is more acceptable that it was similar to today's long jump because the images provide the only evidence of the behavior. The main reason why some people want to call it a triple jump is the existence of a source who once claimed that a man named Peyelos made 55 ancient foot jumps. The long jump has been part of the modern Olympic Games since the Olympics began in 1896. In 1914, Dr. Harry Eaton Stewart recommended "running long jump" as a standardized track and field event for women. However, it wasn't until 1948 that women's long jump was added to the Olympic track and field program.

Skill.
There are five main elements of the long jump: approach running, the last two steps, leaping, behavior in the air, and landing. The speed of preparation or approach and high leap from the board are fundamental to success. Speed is a very important element of the approach, so it is not surprising that many long jumpers also compete successfully in sprints. A typical example of long jump/sprint doubling is a performance by Carl Lewis.

The rules of this game
The competitor starts running from the starting position and lands in the sand pit. Crossing this line will result in a 'fall jump'. No part of the competitor's foot shall exceed the forward edge of the foul line. The long jumper makes three attempts to register the best legal jump. There are five main elements of the long jump: approach running, the last two steps, leaping, behavior in the air, and landing. The speed of preparation or approach and the high leap from the board are fundamental to success.

There are 20 levels for experienced male jumpers and 16 levels for female jumpers. Beginners start with step 8. When you approach the jump board, don't hesitate to slow down. Maintain speed - maintain maximum speed just before takeoff - and look straight ahead.

The advantage of this sport is to boost metabolism.Oxygen capacity increases.Increases your sense of balance.Increases oxygen circulation to tissues.Improve the circulation of lymph through the lymphatic glands.Cardiovascular health increases energy and vitality.Your body gets used to supplying more oxygen and blood to your muscles. This improves the function of the heart and lungs. Jumping improves balance and muscle harmony. It's a great way to get the right functionality for everyday use.

What is important about the sport is that the world record for men's long jump is 8.95 meters set by Mike Powell at the 1991 World Championships in Athletics in Tokyo, Japan. And the best woman, Malaika MIHAMBO
