Enrique Razon's Bloomberry To Open Cabité Soler Puerto Azul Casino By 2028
Billionaire mogul Enrique Rajon will open a state-of-the-art casino in Cabité by 2028 in an ambitious move to boost the local gaming environment. The venture is part of the Philippine government's strategic initiative, aiming to leverage the potential of a burgeoning integrated resort to boost economic growth in the gaming sector. This was revealed at the Inside Asia Games Summit when Alejandro Tenko, chairman and CEO of the Philippine Entertainment and Gaming Company (PAGCOR), explained the country's strategy. The Philippines is increasingly recognized as a top destination for tourism and entertainment, strengthening its unrivaled presence in the Asian gaming market. Philippine game development plan: Tenko has announced that at least six new integrated resorts are expected to be developed under the current government, boosting the Philippines' reputation as a hub for luxury and entertainment. According to a report by the Philippine Star (PhilStar), Tenko noted, "These projects include new developments in Entertainment City, which will begin in 2025, with additional ventures earmarked for Cebu and Boracay in 2026. In addition, a new integrated resort is planned for Clark in Central Luzon by 2027, with Soler Puerto Azul set to open in Cabité at the end of 2028. Soler Puerto Azul will be Rajon's third major casino company following the successful launch of Soler in Paranac and the $1 billion Soler Resort North in Quezon City. These developments underscore Bloomsbury Resort's efforts to strengthen the gaming and tourism sector in the Philippines. The Soler brand has become synonymous with high-quality entertainment and gaming experiences, attracting domestic and international visitors. The expansion plan is close to completing SunTrust Resorts Holdings' Westside City project, which is expected to open next year. It is also expected that two more integrated resorts will begin operating in Boracay by 2026. "We are exploring the potential expansion of Lafu-Lafu City located in Maktan and Clark. These projects are still in the planning stage, but we promise to create thousands of new jobs and contribute significantly to economic growth," Tengco added. The development is part of a broader strategy to diversify entertainment and hospitality services across the Philippines to ensure robust growth in these sectors. At the summit, Tengko stressed that three key factors are at play in the continued expansion of the Philippines' gaming industry: the introduction of more integrated resort casinos, solid performance in the electronic gaming sector and potential benefits from the privatization of PAGCOR-operated casinos in the future. Strategic Investments and Collaborations: As reported by the Asia Gaming Brief, in April 2022, Rajon's Bloomberry made a pivotal move, securing a property in Cabité to pave the way for the development of Soler Puerto Azul. The project, which requires an investment of at least $300 million, is poised to become a landmark for the region, strengthening the local economy and providing high-quality entertainment options. The Philippine government's efforts to strengthen integrated resort services in the Philippines suggest a strategic shift towards strengthening the Philippines as a leading global destination in tourism and entertainment. Such efforts are expected to not only strengthen the gaming sector but also significantly boost the Philippines' economic trajectory. |
