Kane UEFA competition 'PK hat trick No. 1' Roundup

While South Korea's national defender Kim Min-jae started and played 68 minutes, his team, Germany's most prestigious Bayern Munich, continued to push its opponents, with Harry Kane scoring four goals, winning the UEFA Champions League UCL season for the first time.

It was a great victory with nine goals.

Munich, led by Belgian coach Bang Sang-Kompany, scored 3-2 early in the second half in the first leg of the 2024-2025 UCL League phase at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany on the 18th, but later added six goals to win a 9-2 victory.

Munich, the winner of the 2019-2020 season, will try to win its seventh UCL title this season. In particular, Munich's desire to advance to the finals and win is stronger than ever, as the final match will be held at Allianz Arena, Munich's home stadium. Such a desire was well expressed in the first round. Munich indiscriminately bombed Dinamo Zagreb, one of the most prestigious clubs in Eastern Europe, boasting 25 times of Croatia's first division championship.

Kane, who was England's proud world-class striker and was the top scorer in UCL, Bundesliga, Euro 2024, and European Golden Shoe last season, scored four goals, including three goals from penalties alone, starting the UCL top scorer for two consecutive seasons.

Michael Olise, who transferred from Crystal Palace in the English Premier League after winning a silver medal at the Paris Olympics, which ended in August as a representative of the French Olympics, scored multiple goals before entering the bench. Rafael Geheiro, Leroy Zane and Leon Goretzka scored one goal each.

Jozoua Kimmich and German Mussiala, the old and new techniques that German soccer boasts, each posted two assists.

Coach Bang Sang Kompany, who took over as Munich's coach in June, brought out a number of key players. With Manuel Neuer as the goalkeeper, the back four widened from left to Alfonso Davis, Kim Min-jae, Upamecano and Jojua Kimihiro. The double volante consisted of Rafael Geheiro and Aleksandar Pavlovicio. Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry were in the second line. Kane was the one-top.

Zagreb responded with a 4-2-3-1 formation. Ivan Nevistic goalkeeper, Ronal Pierre-Gabriel, Sami Ummae, Kevin Theophil-Catterin, Stefan Ristowski defenders, Marco Rogue, Yosim Misic, Ogiwara Dakuya, Martin Baturina, Marco Peacha midfielder, Bruno Petkovic striker.

Kane opened the scoring. Kane completely deceived the goalkeeper with a penalty kick from midfielder Pavlovic in the 16th minute of the first half and scored the first goal neatly.

In the 33rd minute of the first half, Geheiro, who raced to the penalty area in front of the net with a chest trapping ball, shook the net with his left foot, and five minutes later, Olise jumped up from a corner to score his team's third goal with a header goal.

Zagreb did not just collapse. He scored two goals just five minutes into the second half to start a chase. Petkovic scored the first goal of the day in the third minute of the second half when he fell from the left side of the penalty area and pushed his right cross with his left foot. Two minutes later, Japanese second-line striker Ogiwara connected with a left-footed shot on the left side of the penalty area that resulted from a breakthrough in the center. The ball flowed between his legs, making it 2-3.

Munich couldn't afford to stay put. Munich, whose score gap narrowed in an instant, started with Kane scoring at the 12th minute of the second half and hit the visiting team without mercy. When Kimihi's left-footed shot was blocked by the goalkeeper, Kane pushed the second ball with his right foot to make it 4-2.

In the 16th minute of the second half, Olise scored multiple goals with a left-footed shot from the front of the net.

Later, Kane scored consecutive penalties in the 28th and 33rd minutes of the second half, and Munich scored 7-2. Kane became the first player to score three goals from penalty kicks among the four goals he scored on the day. Kane scored a hat trick in two consecutive official matches following the Bundesliga third round match against Holstein Kiel.

Leroy You scored the eighth goal in the 40th minute of the second half for Munich. Leon Goretzka, a substitute in the final minutes of the second half, scored the ninth goal in extra time in the second half to complete a landslide 9-2 victory. Both You and Goretzka were on the verge of being released as they were transferred to Munich last summer. Munich openly declared their transfer by citing that they are highly paid, but as those who are paid around 30 billion won 29.6 million U.S. dollars persisted in the team, it eventually included them in the squad. As substitutes in the second half of the day, the two even scored a goal.

Kim Min-jae left the ground in the 23rd minute of the second half after Munich widened the gap to some extent.

According to soccer statistics media Sofa Score, Kim Min-jae had a 96% pass success rate, but he brought ownership of the ball only once out of five times in aerial ball competition, and the long pass he tried twice did not accurately reach his teammate.

Notably, the team lost its first goal. It failed to block Zagreb Pacha's ball touch at the goal gate, and eventually, Pacha's slightly turned ball passed to Petkovic. Consequently, SofaScore gave Kim a 6.2 rating. This is the lowest score among the Munich players. Footmob gave Kim a 6.3 rating after Manuel Neuer 6.2.

With a total of six matches of the UCL phase, the defending champion Real Madrid beat Stuttgart 3-1 at home. Kylian Mbappe scored his first Champions League goal for Real. Antonio Rudiger and Endrick also added goals each.

Aston Villa England defeated Young Voices Switzerland 3-0 in the enemy territory, and Liverpool England also secured a 3-1 victory in the away match against AC Milan Italy, with the two Premier League clubs raising their dogs at their home stadium.

Italy's most prestigious Juventus F.C. beat PSV of the Netherlands 3-1 at home. Sporting Lisbon Portugal also beat Lille France 2-0 at home.
