〘〘 Choi Ho-sung, Japan's Senior Open Lead for 2 consecutive days, maintains a three-shot lead 〙〙
Choi Ho-sung maintained his lead by reducing two more pars on the second day of the Senior Open Golf Championship organized by the Japan Golf Association (JGA) and finished the game first. On the second day of the tournament held at Kawama Course (par 71) at Chiba Country Club in Chiba Prefecture, Japan on Sunday, Choi shot a 2-under 69 to post a total of 9-under 133 on both days. Choi, who was the lone lead by shooting a 7-under 64 in the first round on the previous day, finished the game first again on the day at the top of the leaderboard. Choi Ho-sung, who has been on the senior stage in Korea and Japan since this season, won the senior opening of Chammaru Construction and the KPGA Legend Classic in May. In the Japanese senior tour, he played in six tournaments until just before this tournament, recording the top 10 in each tournament, including one runner-up, ranking sixth in the prize money rankings. Choi started the game at the 10th hole and birdied the first time on the day at the 12th hole (par 4), but missed a 4-meter par putt at the 15th hole (par 4) to slow down. However, he made up for the lost par by adding a birdie at the 18th hole (par 5), and made a birdie at the 4th hole (par 5) in the second half before finishing the rest of the holes with par. With second-round matches underway as of 2:20 p.m., Choi is three shots ahead of second-place Jib Milka Singh of India. Shingo Katayama, a Japanese senior golf powerhouse, is chasing third place. |
