Korea University, which met Kyung Hee University at home, won a difficult victory.
Korea defeated Dankook University 61-55 in the 2024 KUSF University Basketball U-League regular league held at Korea University Hwajeong Gymnasium on Sunday. With the victory, Korea reported its 11th win (one loss) for this season. Korea University struggled in a poor three-point shooting success rate of 11.8% (2/17) and rebound (34-40), but overcame every crisis with concentration. In the beginning of the first quarter, the team was ahead 7-2 thanks to offensive capabilities of Bae Hyun-sik (five points) and Ji Seung-hyun (two points). Korea University had a hard time as it was tied to Lee Dong-geun's two points during the first five minutes. With only Lee Do-yoon's under-goal score changing the number of points on the scoreboard, Kyung Hee University's Ahn Se-joon and Korea University's Kim Tae-hoon opened three points in turn. After that, Korea University pulled the reins of the chase. Yoo Min-soo swept four points from the inside, and Seok Jun-hwi put in an outer gun. Kyung Hee University's Kim Seo-won and Bae Hyun-sik collected four points, but lost to Lee Dong-geun in a row. Moon Yoo-hyun's score at the end of the third quarter gave Korea a seven-point lead, 45-38. At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Kyung Hee University elevated the mood by scoring consecutive points by Bae Hyun-sik. Park Chang-hee and Ahn Se-joon added points, and Kyung Hee University trailed Korea University 46-47. After clearing the battle line with a timeout, Moon Yoo-hyun revealed his offensive instincts. Lee Dong-geun also helped the team run away by raising the energy level. With the victory, Gwangju National University won 10 games (one loss). Gwangju University's Yang Yoo-jung (23 points, 5 steals, 4 rebounds, including 2 3-pointers), Jo Woo (19 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists), UIB (15 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals, including 3 3-pointers), and Lim Kyo-dam (11 points, 6 rebounds, 5 blocks, 3 assists, 3 steals) combined 68 points to contribute to the victory. Oh Si-eun (22 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals, including 3 3-point shots) and Lee Da-hyun (12 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists) fought hard, but it was not enough to prevent the team's defeat. |
