In the 2024-25 preview, the official website of the Australian Professional Basketball explained Lee Hyun-joong 23 as the next weight to the Illawarra Hawks Best 5.

Lee averaged 17.4 minutes, 7.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, two points, and a 53.1 percent three-point accuracy rate in the 2023-24 NBL. He accounted for 43.6 percent of the Illawarra Hawks' playing time in 27 regular-season games.

Justin Tatum 45 of the U.S. ranked second in voting for the last regular league NBL Leader of the Year award, which he led as interim coach of the Illawarra Hawks from November 2023. He advanced to the semifinals in the playoffs after being promoted to the official head coach.

The Australian professional basketball website said, "Coach Justin Tatum is not afraid to change his main small forward to Lee Hyun-joong. He will be given a chance to start."

In the 2023-24 NBL regular season, Lee Hyun-joong showed the advantage of combining attack strength and height 201cm barefoot, as 15.2 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 36 minutes.

Justin Tatum is the father of Jason Tatum 26, who is one of the top five players in the 2022-2024 U.S. National Basketball Association. He is a cousin of Turon Roux 47, who won the NBA championship as a player 2000-2001 and a coach 2016.

Larry Hughes, 45, still king of the 2005 American professional basketball, is the guardian of Jason Tatum. The fact that Lee Hyun-joong is regarded as the Illawarra Hawks six-man and mainstay small forward by Justin Tatum, will positively play a role in challenging the NBA.

The Illawarra Hawks face the Cairns Taipans on Sept. 21 in the away game of the 2024-25 Australian Professional Basketball League regular season opener.
