Korean infielder Bae Ji-hwan (25) of the Pittsburgh Pirates of the U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB) has gone down to the minor leagues again.
Pittsburgh announced that it had adjusted its 26-man roster, including sending Bae Ji-hwan to Triple-A Indianapolis. Bae Ji-hwan, who was promoted to the big league on the 27th of last month, was relegated to the minor league again in about a month. Bae Ji-hwan, who started this season in the minor leagues due to injury, went to the big leagues for the first time in the season on May 22 and was immediately injured and placed on the injured list. He tried to return in late June after a minor league rehabilitation game, but he went back to the minor leagues with the removal of the injured list. Bae Ji-hwan, who played center field and second base, recently suffered a hit in his position as shortstop O'Neill Crews moved to center field. Bae Ji-hwan has played in 29 big league games this year and has a batting average of 0.189 (14 hits in 74 at-bats) and six RBIs and stolen bases. |
