Dissatisfaction with poor diet explodes

As complaints about the food provided at the 2024 Paris Olympics athletes’ village grow, British national swimming team member Adam Peaty has now claimed that bugs were found in the village food.

According to the Guardian and other British media outlets on the 8th (Korean time), British national swimming team member Adam Peaty strongly criticized the 2024 Paris Olympics athletes’ village food.

He claimed, “Compared to the level of the athletes’ expectations, the catering (provided by the athletes’ village) was not sufficient,” and “This is at a level that will affect the athletes’ performance.”

He continued, “The catering at the previous Tokyo Olympics and Rio Olympics was great,” but “This time in Paris, we were not provided with enough protein-rich food.” He

added, “The lines for food were long, and there was no waiting system, so we had to wait over 30 minutes just to get food.”

The organizers of the 2024 Paris Olympics emphasized “sustainable Olympics” and “eco-friendly Olympics” and made 60% of the menus at the athletes’ village cafeteria vegetarian.

Piti strongly criticized this, saying, “The talk of sustainability was just forced on the athletes,” and “At least I want meat. I need to eat meat for the games, so I don’t understand why this should be forcibly changed.” He also said, “When I listened to people around me, they found bugs in the fish provided,” and “We are watching the best athletes in the world, but the Olympic village is not providing them with the best food.” Regarding this, the Paris Olympic Organizing Committee explained, “We listen to the opinions of the athletes and take their feedback very seriously,” and “We have been actively responding by adjusting the amount of food supplied to the athletes for the first few days.”
